The initial start in India….. 

The roots of Mody Pumps®began in India in 1957, almost 50 years ago by D. N. Mody; a successful businessman in a variety of enterprises. The subcontinent had gone through a tumultuous period, British rule and subsequent partition. There was a lack of basic necessities in almost all areas, water being one of them. Mr. Mody, recognizing the acute shortage of water pumps began importing submersible and jet pumps from the U. K. Due to high import tariffs and the depreciating value of the local currency, he was forced to begin manufacturing his own pumps and motors. Back in the 60’s Mody was the first local manufacturer to produce 4” & 6” submersible turbine pumps, which ultimately led to a full line of submersible dewatering, sludge and waste water pumps.

Established Now For Worldwide Distribution…. 

Mody Pumps® Inc. manufacturing and corporate facilities are located in Bakersfield, California USA. The Bakersfield operation started in 1996 by focusing and growing the business through a distribution network. Today, Mody Pumps has a worldwide presence with manufacturing and sales facilities in the USA, India and Europe. Most important, a Mody network of qualified distributors/service centers has been established throughout the world.

Mody Pumps® (India) Pvt. Ltd. has its Manufacturing and sales plant located in Ambernath, in the state of Maharashtra just north of the
Mumbai metropolis. Located in one of the leading industrial parks, amongst numerous multinational manufacturing companies, the plant sits on over 3,10,000 sq. ft. Equipped with the most modern tooling, the ISO 9001:2015 certified factory has the capability to test pumps up to 300HP in both 50Hz and 60Hz with full backup power. In an effort to go green, a 20K W power generating unit was installed using solar technology. In 2015, Mody Pumps Foundry Technologies was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Mody Pumps® (India) Pvt. Ltd. This foundry is equipped with the most modern no bake system and fully automated with over 40,000 sq. ft. of production and physical and chemical testing labs.
